Quantum Data Recovery

All Quantum hard drives are very similar in appearance. However, depending on your drives family there are two main problems with the Quantum Hard Drive.

quantum hard drive

Often the Quantum Fireball ‘AS’ can develop a regular knocking or ticking sound when powered. This generally signifies a mechanical failing with the drive’s internal mechanism. These Quantum hard drives are regarded within the data recovery industry as being notoriously difficult to recover from once they’ve developed extreme mechanical failures. The engineers at Fields Data Recovery have developed a number of in-house techniques and procedures, resulting in a higher than normal success rate on these hard drives. Our engineers believe one of the most important factors for a successful recovery is to power down these Quantum hard drives as soon as they begin to malfunction.

Often this failure results in the drive not being recognised in the computer’s BIOS, or on occasions, results in the hard drive acquiring incorrectly.

The entire Quantum Fireball LCT family is prone to developing electrical faults. Often this can be diagnosed by one of the chips on the controller card appearing burnt out or showing visible signs of damage. These chips control the spindle motor and the voice coil motor that moves the hard drive’s head stack. Fields Data Recovery has an extensive inventory of hard drives allowing their engineers to overcome this problem and generally return the data to the customer within 48 hours!!

“The service was brilliant, Fields got the data back to me within the week and I was up and running again in no time. A life saver!” - David Stephens, BroadView
