Floppy Disk Data Recovery
Because of the portability and the thin media of floppy disks, they are more susceptible to physical damage, magnetic media failure and contamination failure than the platters on a hard disk.
Typical removable media error messages are:
- “File not found” and “disk not formatted”
- Unrecognized database format
- Enter database password (when none was set)
- Invalid or corrupt partition
- Corrupt FAT
- Invalid sector
- Disk I/O error
You may get error messages trying to read a floppy, such as; “cannot read sector”, “Invalid media”, “cannot find file”, “invalid disk”, etc. These are all indicative of a corrupt floppy disk, and in most cases we can recover at least some, if not all, of the original data.
Tip: Check to see if these errors persist after trying to read the faulty floppy disk in a different floppy drive.
Note: Recovered data is returned on Floppy, CD-ROM or DVD.
