In March 2004 a businessman flew in from Malta with a failed hard drive that contained the entire database of all his customers’ details, transaction records and business accounts. He had backed up the data but the tape that had been used was also corrupt. The diagnosis was a component malfunction. We replaced the component with one from our extensive stock of parts and recovered the data, allowing the businessman to fly home after just two days, happy in the knowledge that he had saved his business, without his customers ever knowing.
